zooming with an open 'shutter'?

I was wondering if it was possible to make a script or have a feature(if there isn't one currently) to have the camera zoom while having the shutter open, as in while the sensor is taking in information for the picture.

Why not? During shoot you can use scripts with zooming - this works (see attachment, Tv=5 sec).
Start shooting manually, then enable script (which is started earlier).

yes, thats what i'm going after.
so for your process, do you push the shutter to start the picture, push the chdk button, then push the shutter again before the picture is done?

EDIT: i think i might have your process wrong.  i'm assuming you start the script with the shutter, but that might not be true.  are you first starting the chdk script enabler, then pushing the shutter, then pushing the enable script button?
