Ultra Intervalometer for Canon G12 firmware version 1.0.0F?

Hello,

I purchased a G12 and it has firmware version 1.0.0F. The script supports only 1.0.0E.

Can I simply load the script and see if it works? Or do I have to wait for an update?

Yes.

Okay it works. So is there a reason why the F firmware version isn't listed as supported under the Ultra Intervalometer page?

Could there potentially be a problem? I mean, seems to work fine I just tested it. I don't mess with too much other than setting the number of seconds for delay and unlimited shots.

I haven't tried long exposure yet though...

Probably because the person who updated the wiki only had an E version to test with?  And nobody with an F version felt the need to update the wiki ?  Or the explosion from using the script on F versions left no survivors who could report what happened?

Okay - I made the last one up.

In general,  a script that works on one firmware version will always work just fine on another firmware version of the same camera model.

Much of the wiki is old, out of date and in some cases, just plain wrong.  Scripts from four years ago reference prop_case values that have changed or use simulated button presses to activate functions.   Its a volunteer effort - user input is welcome.
