IXUS960IS (SD950) and Juciphox - camera starts in review/playback mode

Hi all,

I'm using a Canon IXUS 960IS (SD950) and the Juciphox CHDK downloaded from: Juciphox Download - build 0.3.9, revision #491

I've managed to get CHDK to load, so that's all fine. But what I find strange is the camera boots up in review/playback mode. And when I press the "play button" to try get the camera into shoot mode, it turns off.

Is anyone else with a similar configuration experiencing the same issue?

That's normal on many DryOs based cameras, they always start in play mode.
To change to record mode press (or even half-press) the shutter.

Thanks a lot. I was using CHDK on a IXUS65 before which is non-DryOS so I thought something might have been wrong :)

Hi,

Sorry for such a dumb question, but I'm trying to figure out how to start CHDK on my SD950IS for a couple hours now and I think I could use a little help from someone who had already succeeded on that.

I read everything I could in the CHDK documentation, I tried small (32MB) and big (8GB) memory cards, I formatted them in the camera and in the PC (using FAT16), I tried turning on the camera using different ways, but so far I couldn't manage to get CHDK loaded.

Do you have any tips to get me started?

Your cam has DryOS, could it be you forgot to make the card bootable ?
