I'm so pleased to see this is finally available, and wanted to say thanks for your efforts on our behalf. The 790 has been a great little camera, but the lack of RAW option was making life difficult. I've installed the firmware c version ixus90_sd790-100c-0.9.9-889-full_BETA and did not have trouble booting -- have only begun to explore the other features, but I was most interested in RAW, and I did experience some difficulties opening the RAW files. Tried photoshop with canon RAW plugin, the canon DPP software, etc. Tried changing the suffix, thinking that my photoshop could read CR2 better than CRW, but neither opened. This may be due to the fact that I'm using an older version of Photoshop so cannot use the most recent camera Raw plug in. Finally I was able to import using a workaround method and graphic converter on mac, but all RAW file color seems excessively skewed toward cyan (the jpgs are fine). Editing this way is a little awkward ... I may need to find another program to convert these images. I tried the DNG converter, but that too, didn't work for me ("not supported on this system").
Thought I'd also mention that Graphic Converter EXIF tool 8.16 notes a FILE FORMAT ERROR so I wasn't sure if that is what is keeping the files from opening directly (they are unrecognizable?) and the date is showing as 1970
ExifTool Version Number : 8.16

and,
It describes the camera as a PowerShot SX110 IS.
None of the other EXIF data is displaying

I'm not sure if this is something you are already aware of, but figured I should report it. I was thinking that it might be good to update the firmware on my camera, then go for another, later version, but when I checked the Canon site, they said no firmware update is available. So, I guess firmware 100C is what I have and what I'm stuck with.
Will check back periodically, and hope to be able to test some of the other new/interesting features. Thanks again for all your work on this!
EDIT Just updated to ixus90_sd790-100c-0.9.9-893-full_BETA and same issue. Camera is recognized as PowerShot SX110 IS rather than 790 and RAW files on my mac readable only in graphic converter and picassa . Still looking for a workaround to use the raw content effectively - especially 'exposure' modifications , so would appreciate any suggestions as to software that can read these files in 10.4.11. Will try with 10.5, but would like to get it working with 10.4.
EDIT 2 -- Rawker v 2.3.2 did the trick! It has an exposure compensation slider that may help as well. I'm a happy camper now that I can see the RAW files.
