Can't seem to get it to write DNG files only CRW,

ok fixed I think though it didn't write badpixel.bin but bad-tmp.bin so renamed it but don't know if that is causing problems.

So now writing DNG files around 14.5MB in size.

This is on Ixus 90is with CHDK 0.9.0

Also how do you get Gimp to read RAW files, got it to load with ufraw but just coloured lines no visible pic?

I'm having trouble booting with the Jan 20th release.  I'm seeing the light next to ISO flash two times and then nothing.  I have to reset the battery to try again.

This is my first time trying CHDK so I may be missing something basic.  I used Cardtricks to format and make bootable my SD which is a 4GB.  I locked the SD card as instructed but nada?

Any advice?

Well, this is by no means a finished port -  sounds about right, from sharky's 20 Jan post:

also (since you used CardTricks to format the card) there should be a file 'ver.req' on your card now;

you could try to determine if you've got the right firmware version:

1) unlock card
2) boot cam -> normal Canon mode
3) press and hold 'Func / Set'; while still holding it, also press 'Display'
4) version number is shown on 3rd line: "Firmware Ver GM1xxx"

(as far as i can tell version should be 100D for this to work)
 
that's about all i can say about this (don't have this cam)

Thanks for the reply... my FW is GM1.00C.  Perhaps this is the problem.   I purchased this camera if Asia for what it's worth.

There is no official FW upgrade for this camera... is it possible to update the camera using one of the FW dumps?

Any other suggestions are welcome.

No that's not possible, and even if it were, would be incredably risky: we can
never tell if any (small) change has been made by Canon to the hardware
components.
I guess all you can do is wait...usually once 1 fw version is fully ported, the
other versions follow (it's a lot easier with an example ...)

edit: according to your cam's Wiki page here: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/SD790IS there's no mention
         of your FW version...you might want to dump yours (CardTricks, use 'NewDryOS' option)
         if the dump is there, there's at least a chance that the porters might be willing to work on
         your FW version. Once you got the dump, upload it somewhere accessable and report it
         in this thread: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,288.0.html

Dunno. They look okay to me. Photoshop didn't like them, but Gimp RAW handled them fine.

I am really excited with all this development and want to give it a try it out. Also hope to see the remaining issues fixed.
