Portrait Enhancer (sample included)

Is it possible to add a scene, just like the portrait enhancer in many Fuji DCs.
Such as fuji f100fd:
FinePix F100fd Compact Digital Camera from Fujifilm UK
It would be great if Canon could have one.

*Edit: The given link seems to be dead.*
Here is the sample image from fujifilm website:

I've been searching for a while but got nothing.
Maybe someone can give me a link about the technical detail on how to do that.
Then I can try to implement it in my free time.  :)

hmm, set camera ISO to 800 while overriding it with CHDK to ISO80?
this should set the NR to max. Thus smoothing out all detail.

Thanks, but the result seems not that good.

IMO, the "soft focus effect" is the key for such an image.
Soft focus
However, if it is practical to implement in the firmware is not known.
The technical details are needed for further investigation.
(I'm all new to this.. :()

costum processing takes a lot of time even working with single pixels, blurring effect would last forever...
maybe possible too smooth out such details, if somebody figures out how to control noise reduction...

not working as expected... overriding ISO value reconfigures NR

Here's the workflow from the feature of developing RAW:
(1) Take a picture with ISO <= 200 (Save RAW)
(2) Develop RAW, choose the RAW file
(3) Set ISO to 800, take one shot
Then the detail of the new pic should be reduced by NR.
If NR could be applied multiple times on one image, the resulting image should be pretty close to that using soft focus effect. (I guess  :D)
Is there any way to apply NR twice?  ???

hmm..
it works this way
btw i have some croma noise at iso 200
but if i develop it with iso 400, it looks a bit more nice, no croma noise, without loosing too much detail
some NR cntrol would be nice...
