It could be possible in future support even the a720 or the other dryos cameras?
Furthermore, do this workaround work with Canon remote capture task or other third part remote software?

No, even for some VxWorks cameras this is impossible. Therefore this work is stopped (because I have no access to modern Canon cameras :().

So this is an hardware limt not only a firmware lock.. What a pity.. :(
Instead for the third party software, is it a software support issue or you used something very different in the comunication protocol?

There are no hardware limitations, but there is nothing in the firmware to unlock either. Most CHDK functionality is not about "unlocking" things, it's about programming the camera to do novel things that Canon didn't program it to do. The problem with adding USB functionality is that the USB subsystem is very complex and we have zero documentation, AND that the camera already uses the USB hardware in it's own ways.

What ewavr did here taps into the Camera's USB functionality by exploiting and extending something that already exists in some cameras (but only in some cameras which is why he has apparently decided not to spend time polishing it for now), allowing small amounts of data to be transferred. It doesn't make fast bidirectional USB data transfer possible, which is a requirement for much of anything that has something to do with transferring images.

This has nothing in common with the Canon SDKs or PTP.

Thanks for the plain explanation, I didn't fully understand this point, so the problem is to rebuild the PTP parts of code that missed and those could be even completly different from model to model, is it?
I apologize if I were a little curious.. But, then, about the comunication method implemented in this hack
(I suppose this were the SRM which you talk about) I didn't understand what is the task it was originally implemented for, if it has nothing to do with PTP and how this is linked to original remote control code..
In less word, what is its role? Is it simply a much raw manner (low level?) to do something similar to remote control but as a workaround?

Some technical details - SRM task handles setup packets: USB in a NutShell - Chapter 6 - USB Requests
CHDK uses SET_DESCRIPTOR request for writing data to camera (this request is ignored by camera firmware) and GET_DESCRIPTOR request to reading data from camera (this is done without SRM task).

Is there a " follow these steps " guide to use CHDK on a A630 and get images directly into a PC while shooting from the camera using USB cable?
I am looking for this feature for long.
