Hello!

I'm a n00b regardign CHDK, I followed the installation guide, read the n00b guied, the Dummie, etc. I'm an experienced computer user, in fact been an IT/IS Admin...

My problem is that when I activate the CHDK and try to take a picture it starts a "default" script, and doesn't take any picture, just stating that it's running a default script...

The menues work, histogram works partially (some modes "dissapear" below the screen and it shows where the standard h.g. appears), etc. But I cannot make use of the different features...

What can be wrong?

You're in ALT mode.

See here: CHDK firmware usage - CHDK Wiki - that wiki page is a little old, but those basic functions are still the same..

Thanks for the answer, but I know I'm in ALT-mode.

Isn't it supposed to work in ALT-mode when taking pictures? I wanted for instance to test the high shutter speed... Or does it work through setting the parameters and then exiting ALT-mode and shoot?

Yep. You do the settings in alt mode, and shoot in 'normal' mode.

If you shoot in alt mode, it will - as you already saw - start a script.
