There's a page here with camera features: CameraFeatures - CHDK Wiki
As far as I can tell the A530 wasn't tested yet, but the camera's that have been tested
seem to have at best 60-90 msec (S3IS) although most cam are over 100 msec.

     keep checking this kind of topics: Which MD scripts are the best for lightning?
     and you'll see it's a feature that is regularly discussed and being worked on.

getting more speed than 50 msec is is a big challange, yet not possible...
but i doubt that CHDK will ever run on 1D mark III... it's too expensive...
dataghost probably will be the first, who ports CHDK on a DSLR, on 40D, so i reccomend you to follow the developement threads, and maybe a few months and the first port will be available

Thanks for the responses guys, learning everyday more, i'm now planning to write my own script for the intervalometer, specific for my purpose. Tuned the MD, a little faster, but i think it wo'nt be able to shoot fast enough, but it's still very usefull for some other idea's i have in mind.

@ Wim, wel toevallig, meteen antwoord van een hollander :-) zitten er veel nederlanders op dit forum?
