Just wondering if anyone knows if increasing the FPS (of stills, not movie) would be possible or limited by hardware?
9 FPS would be a dream on the 40D!!

I'd suspect that it's a hardware limitation somewhere (shutter?); or perhaps the image processor can't handle any more than a certain amount of image data at any one time. 9 fps would be awesome...until you've filled the buffer, that is. Stupid SanDisk Ultra II cards...

Hold it, that first video there was done connecting the camera to computer and recording the screen images (check the youtube link). Wouldn't get too hasty now :P

^ Perhaps you'd like to get started on it yourself? Not sure if Dataghost has a 450D handy ;)

I'm wondering if the 450D, or any of the new DSLRs (1000D, 5DMkII) could be running DryOS? That could be a bit of a problem...oh, and, the firmware would have to be decrypted from scratch.

i sink all new camera run DryOS. For 450d and new mark we have firmware, but 1000d - not.
I sink canon not release firmware update for this camera  to that not repeat situasion witn 300d.
I sink need write DryOS firmware dumper.
1000d have price 500$ :) - 40d - $919.00 . Of couse 40d faster but i sink matrix equally, by size, mp and outher. If add to 1000d highlight priority feature..........
