Hi,
I currently stumbled over the CHDK SW  because I wanted to do remote image capture with my IXUS 800IS (I understand this is possible with this code). However, I found the firmware version 1.01A on the camera (according to the FAQ procedure on this site) and loaded the SD700_v7 CHDK on the SD card (I know the code has been designed for firmware version 1.01B ...).
After loading CHDK via the MENU / FIRM UPDATE the blue splash screen appears for some seconds and after that the battery symbol plus percentage. So this seems to have worked well but now here are two questions:

- (how) should I update to firmware version 1.01B? (i.e. where to get it, I found e.g. http://web.canon.jp/imaging/ixusw/frm-e.html - is this the correct firmware?)

- I could not figure out which button beares the <ALT> functionality

I have been informed that the ALT button is the direct print button.
Have not tried it myself as my SD700 is fw 1.00b and CHDK doesn't work on it.

Bit late? - you may have found out already - hope it helps.......
