Well, all we can do now is get some attention, there are many skilled programmers, and i don't belive that no one wants to deal with 1000D. It would be great for 1000d users, and even better for the person that makes the mod, making him somehow famous. ATTENTION is all we need, so any ideas ?

Uhmmmmmm, I don't know. Donations maybe?

Anyway, there are a lot of skilled programmers, but I don't know how many of them actually own a 1000D. That's the major issue, I think.

Bingo. You don't just need a programmer, you need one who has the camera, knowledge, interest and time.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

ISO 3200 and spot metering is all I want. Also 3 fps in raw mode should be a blessing:)....

@Gratiz:

Maybe you have enough time to change the productcode from a 450D into the one of the 1000d ?
You wrote, that the firmware have been compiled out of the same project, maybe it'll work.

Is it much work to do so?

Ppl, I have time on my hands and a 450d. What is needed that I can do to get a chdk for the 450d/XSI? I'm by no means a programmer but have some Linux programming skills.

Last month Canon released a new firmware, (As noted by "a-z"), here you can download it in case you're interested:

http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eosd/firm-e/eosdigital5/firmware.html

It could be useful for the porting porpouses that we are discussing here.
