EOS 5D Mk2 25fps video recording possible?

The EOS 5D Mark II camera was just released.

Unfortunately for the users in PAL countries, the camera is 'locked' to shoot video with 30 fps only. Is it possible to add a 25 and 24 fps option for recording?

Because the electric power runs at 50Hz AC in this countries, the shots done under discharge lights, (fluoros, stret lights...) show severe flicker, making this camera - that claims to work extremely well at low light levels - almost useless...

Any chances to improve this?

CHDK doesn't currently exist for any DSLRs. You can see the work that has been done for DSLRs in DSLR CHDK development but this is only of interest to coders at this point, there is nothing of any use to end users.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

i think hackers are never motivated by money.
also: hacking a cam means owning a cam.
owning a cam like this means someone already has money.
it also means it is very likely that this person is not a hacker.

most of the developers here have no money for such pretty expensive toys...
or just don't wan't to waste money...
and most of them don't even need, they are not professional photographers
(of couse everybody would like to have dslr quality in a p&s :) )
btw... nobody would like to make any accidental damage to their camera especially if it was a bit expensive.
experimenting/hacking(or flashing if needed) may end up with a dead camera.

(but using chdk is safe)

Well all of this is true but by my reasoning the 5D II will sell in so many copies to such a diversified crowd that someone is bound to have the skillz needed.

If the money is the deciding factor or not... well to be honest I think the money more represents the credz and thanks for the hack. It means people want it badly enough to donate and that also mean they will be plenty thankful if someone comes trough.

So even if the money is a nice touch I agree that it most likely is not the motivator. It's rather just a gauge to see how badly people want it.
