Minor Update: SDHC with bootdisk support for A720

I included DataGhost's fat32-autodetect to allow booting from large cards.

You need  to create two partitions on the card
1st: small only for chdk, this will boot, part-type 6, fat16 formatted
2nd: rest of the card for images, part-type 0x0b, fat32 formatted

Bad news for windows-users: Windows uses only the first partition on removable devices. Suggestions to solve this problem are appreciated.

The attached file belongs to platform/a720/sub/100c/

@ewavr: no changes have been made before "// SDHC-Boot-Support" and there are no external dependencies.

Cheers.

Fantastic news, Jeff! ::)

Something else I've noticed, there are some oddities to the DryOS branch which prevent it from building on the windows tool chain (gets stuck in an infinite loop and eventually sh.exe crashes).
The same here with me and gcc-3.4.6 toolchain on a Windows system (I know Windows is evil and doesn't like open source freeware to be compiled on it )  8)???

I think this needs sorting out.

If I can provide any information, please contact me.

for the partition issue on M$, why don't you use the other way around?

1st: FAT32
2nd: FAT16 to boot from

Because a camera wont boot from the second partition, I think.

Indeed. As you can see here, I have done some thorough research into solving this problem. The camera and Windows do the exact same thing (as can be seen in the code), where the camera is relatively easily modified to read the proper partition after booting. They both expect an SD card to have just one partition, they don't even check the partition type.

I've also been thinking about that, yes. I suggest we continue this conversation in the other thread, this doesn't only apply to DryOS cameras and is a bit offtopic in here :)

Attempt to port Allbest build to a720 - http://ewavr.nm.ru/hdk/allbest-a720-001.zip (src&bin)
Still without dual partitions support, utime(), some variables, USB remote button support and extended movie capabilities. >:(
Testing and work continues...

p.s. platform/a720/sub/100c/boot.c: long canon_bss_len = 0x9d024 - 0xfc04; (After two days of trying to understand why not start CHDK in Allbest/Grand build)
