 i didn't know you are in such advanced state...is shooting raw working too?

Yes, raw, zebra, histogram, games, bracketing, shooting values override -all works .... and even motion detector script.  :)
Now I try to use dual partition boot (from jeff666)... something is not working

edit: this was my mistake. It works. Great feature!

Great results on something that was impossible some time ago :D

I miss the blue LED blink when I turn my camera on..... hopefully I'll get my photo diodes by the end of the month  :P

I'm just wondering if progress on this has progressed enough that somebody should start a write up of the A720IS wiki page...

Including:
The latest downloads
How to get it working*
Other misc info...

*I personally finally got the allgod version listed a few post above to load after loading an old version and following THESE directions and telling it to make the card bootable in the alt menu and saving.

Dear Friends.

I just bought a new A720IS and then came across this wonderful world of CHDK firmware. and it was quite interesting to know that I can even do the RAW pics with my own camera :D. But the only thing is that it is still in the development phase :'(. I like to know that when it will be available for the ignorent users like me... and how can i upgrade it. and what are the chances and risks with the camera.

Good Luck and MAY THE FORCE WITH ALL OF YOU..

Will be looking forward to have your firmware in near future.

Bye.

Keep in mind that all this work is done voluntarily, for free, in developers' spare time. Therefore, there is no timeframe, so nobody can tell you when it will be released except for when it actually is released.
In the meantime, please read the wiki to find out about how CHDK works and what risks are involved.

I guess the 720IS Wiki page will need to be done soon, I just loaded on the stuff tonight, it wasn't that hard at all considering it was my first time.

If somebody hasn't already, sometime in the next week or so I'll start on the 720IS wiki page...

The FAQ to answer your risk question.

Thanks dear for your advice I will go through the wiki. But looking at all those LEDs and circuts make me scared. But hope that like old chdk release for 720IS it will be two files (diskboot and PS.fir) files.

Now I am getting anxious to get my hands on the new firmware.

Thanks once again for the efforts all of you people are putting. incase of any help from a newbe I am at your service  8).

Bye.

I just spent the last 2 hours reading this thread and trying to understand what was happening. :) Thank you for the amazing work! I've got an S5IS and I'd like to play with the code. Will try to play (this is a gross exaggeration -- I am unfamiliar with both ARM assembly and the CHDK source) with the 10th Jan code. Is there some way to get hold of the newer code base?

Again, thank you for the awesome work!

Will try to play with the 10th Jan code. Is there some way to get hold of the newer code base?

If you just want to see what the code looks like, go with ewavr's A720 ports. He posted a complete port of trunk (Jan, 11) and a mostly complete port of allbest's code (which has much more features).

If you want to work on the S5 port, ask DataGhost for his source.

To start working on it, you should read my tutorial on the first page of this thread. Also note that GrAnd posted a DryOS-signatures-file for IDA. I tried it on the S5 and G9 firmwares and it worked very well.

Cheers.

HI jeff

From your message it look like that A720IS code is done and it will be available soon. I have seen the code from allbest but it has got a lot of stuff and even i wasnt able to understand every thing in it. I have seen your early post too but didnt get in my mind. so what you suggest from where to start.

Bye
