Hi,
I'm still testing with g9's crw, In camera.h I changed the value CAM_RAW_ROWPIX and CAM_RAW_ROWS to the size of a regular cr2 4032 and 3024 (they was set to 4104 and 3048).
Nothing new, using a software called Light zone(it's a 30 day trial but worth a try)  is possible to see this images in the browser although they are marked as "Invalid image files".

bye

Hi bongo_bingo , is the original RAW what you are testing ? Or the chdk one?
I can't see the point of including the RAW option on the chdk, if the G9 itself has RAW.
Will it be any better?

I don't know if crw is better than cr2, I'm only curious to see the difference, even because I've shooted some crws which I want to see.
Another thing that increased my curiosity is that crws have always the same size, while there are differences in the size of the cr2s.

bye

one thing you can benefit from chdk raws: the ability to develop it in camera using different settings. and averaging, summing etc.

Yes, this are things which I'm corious to try.

But what is the problem with g9's crws? why they are "invalid"?  ;)

P.s.: when will g9 be added to autobuild?

Hi,
Thanks for all the effort.  Have 1.00F firmware  and downloaded diskboot.zip from reply 52.  Just get "no image message on start up except on one occasion got into the chdk menu.  Have 4GB card formatted in FAT 16.  I'm stumped.

Hi everybody,
just a post to tell all of you that the firmware 1.00I you can find "around" is working very well on my G9 (testing it from about 10 days and found no problems at all). I've upgraded from 1.00H in 30 secs flat, don't get scared if the G9 turns off at the end of the upgrade, that's normal :)
It would be great to see a CHDK on 1.00I ...   need those 30+ secs exposure for night shooting :)
Ciao from Italy
Marco

I have been experimenting for the last few months with detailed panoramic photography.

I have a GigaPan robot panoramic head and bought a G9 to go with it (it can only hold compact cameras so couldn't use my DSLR).

The type of images I am trying to capture would benefit enormously from exposure time bracketed images. I came across mention of CHDK on the PanotoolsNG forum and it seemed like the perfect answer to my problem. After much searching I have arrived here!

Disappointingly , I find that my G9 is running firmware 1.00H ......

I know all this development effort is being done by generous and much appreciated human endeavour but would anybody hazard a guess at when a version might be available for the H version of firmware?

I am pretty new to this so sorry for the dumb question:

This post is telling me that g9 - 1.00g is all working except for the movie-task. Am i reading this quote right?

Also, he says that its attached... where is the file attached?
Is this is latest build or is there a newer build/ other firmware builds?

The ISO is still not right. Set to 400 calculates at 640....

Hi all.
I have chdk for g9-100g with working RAW!!!  :D

In attach files there is my last version for g9-100g (100f) - trunk_g9.rar ...
and also there is a test build  -  DISKBOOT.rar    for g9-100g with TimeStamp... :)
I am sorry for the developer (CHDK + with timestamp) canons5is.clan.su
for use of their code with a view of testing of working RAW on CHDK for G9...

there is example RAW with TimeStamp made with CHDK for Canon G9 -> RapidShare: Easy Filehosting
and JPEG file -> RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

below I have filled the report from jeff666 under my version for g9-100g

Tasks:
  • Get the cam started.
    • start cam under chdk-control without any extensions
    • create led-blinker-test-task
    Progress: all done
  • GUI output.
    • General output
    • Histogramm
    • Zebra mode
    Progress: all done
  • hijack Keyboard handler (this includes USB-support)
    • JogDial
    Progress: all done
  • hijack shoot-task.
    • control darkframe subtraction.
    • implement raw-save: This might be unnecessary, since the G9 saves raw itself, but it should be simple thus I'll include it anyway.
    Progress: all done
  • hijack movie-task.
    Progress: testing (some done)
  • Include multipartition/boot from SDHC support.
    Progress: all done
  • BASIC scripting.
    Progress: all done
  • Lua scripting.
    Progress: all done
  • Overrides.
    • AV
    • TV
    • ISO
    • Subject Distance
    • Bracketing in cont' mode
    Progress: all done
  • Image enhancement.
    • Bad Pixel removal
    • custom curves
