This is wonderful.  I can confirm that shooting override works.  I actually have 1.00H and it works without upgrading to 1.00I.  However, I was having problems with ISO override.  With a value of 2 and value factor of 100, I was getting an ISO of 320 for some reason instead of what I expected to be 200.  The actual ISO I get were a little different than the override settings for other ISOs too.  Maybe I am doing something wrong since I just started using CHDK. Thanks a lot ewavr.

Here is version with multipartition support for 1.00I - http://www.zshare.net/download/550722249311bd51/
If it can boot with as usual formatted card without "card error" message, it's good.
If this version works with multipartition cards (and "Create card with two partitions" option also works) - it is very good.

P.S. Caution "Only for vxWorks cameras because DryOS cams do not have the firmware-update boot method" in Wiki now is outdated.
P.P.S. Current sources are available here - http://ewavr.nm.ru/chdk/for_test/100i.zip

i tested the latest version and it works sometimes only on multipartitioned 8gb kingston sdhc card.  Chdk would boot up from primary partition (2mb) but often fail to change on its own to 2nd partition.

often fail to change on its own to 2nd partition.

Some SDM users have had such problems with certain makes of card.

Sandisk Extreme III has proved reliable.

Thanks for the tip on sdm and sdhc cards!

Just an observation.   The latest version of CHDK if installed on my Kingston 8gb SDHC in a single fat32 partition and with the card locked would throw a card locked warning in the G9.  If the card is not locked the firmware update menu does not show up so I cannot upload the software.

I went back to the 2nd version of CHDK (the third is the latest at this point), and the firmware update menu shows up even if the card is not locked.  This allows me to boot CHDK manually when I need it but the camera functions normally otherwise.  So if a user does not have a good SDHC card, I suggest they use the older CHDK version for now.  On a 2GB card the latest version works quite well.

I have just runned CHDK-g9-100i-0.9.5 in my G9 with 1.00I and it runs great.
Just i am confused about raw support. DIG is not available as in my A590, but the G9 supprts legitime canon RAW (CRW), wich will be the advantage of using the CHDK RAW instad the own canon raw wich the GP supports? I have problems opening and editing the CHDK CRW in both, A590 and G9 with some softare, inlcuding canon software. but no problem when opening and editing the native G9 RAW files, or the CHDK DIG files.
Also, the overrides setting does not work as it would be spected. If i set to override to 10 ISO, the OSD shows 25 ISO, and the light mettering of the camera does not work. I have to use a manual fotometer to measure light and EV...   it it ok?
Thank you all!!

Hi Ewavr,  great job,  mostly everything works that I have seen.

Some testing with manual override with camera on tripod & static scene.

Couple of things that I can confirm are strange **

ISO override:  setting 100 picture on G9 reports 160
                      setting 200 picture on G9 reports 320
                      setting 400 picture on G9 reports 640

*auto ISO switched off in these tests

overriding apeture & shutter seems to work well in my tests.

no chdk 1/20 f5.6  100
chdk tv 1/20 f5.6  100
chdk tv 1/20 f5.6  100
chdk tv 1/20 av f5.65 ISO 100 **(reports 160 on taken picture on G9)
chdk tv 1/40 f4 ISO 100 **(reports 160 on taken picture on G9)
chdk tv 1/80 f4 ISO 200 **(reports 320 on taken picture on G9)

Everything else on preliminary testing works well,  osd zebra, histogram,  visual settings with fonts & symbols,  edge overlay, grids

Can't open raw images created by chdk,  not tried this before so I'll check to see if it's user error.

distance override ignores the value factor which is not displayed on osd or indeed taken account of.  So, 90mm focus override is effectively 90mm whatever is in the value factor.

regards

raw update:

tried to open crw files with canon zoombrowser (v 4.0 raw convertor 4,7,0,18) and with rawtherapee v2.3.  Both couldn't process the raw file.

however,  managed to open it in photomatix & it's fine.  Anyone tried any other raw tools?

added.  rawtherapee v2.4rc picks up the crw files created by chdk fine
