Hi everybody.
Thanks a lot for everybody working on this CHDK.
I'm sorry for my english is not so good (I'm french), especially for the technical terms.
I'm interested in CHDK for two things: the motion detection and the slower eand faster shutter speeds.
I bought my G9 in tokyo in august. CHDK was not available for G9 at that time.
I downloaded today the revision #714 for the firmware i of my G9 (I moved some month ago from firmware 1.00H to 1.00I cause I read to fast the dev section about G9)
So I'm happy but:
I don't find anything about motion detection.
I understood it's a script, but the script I have in revision 714 don't seem to have motion detection features. How can I do??
Thanks a lot if you can answer.

nicolas
trying my best on a G9

Salut Nicolas, bienvenue au forum !

The motion detection script has it's own thread here: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,471.0.html

have fun,

wim

PS as you can see, there's a whole subforum dedicated to scripting ...

3. video focus while record
where resolution = standard ok
where resolution = high crash

hi! i can confirm that crash - and i have a g9 to lend to anybody living in germany wanting to investigate that issue ;)

apart from that: the firmware works super good! great job everybody!

G7 also crashes in hi-res movie mode - http://chdk.kernreaktor.org/mantis/view.php?id=237

I have some idea and can make test version (but for which firmware version?).

maybe for 1.00h and 1.00i versions?
my cam originally has 1.00h but as reported 1.00i chdk firmware works quite fine there and this is the version i currently use.

Does anyone know what the best (best: most accurate) intevalometer appropriate for the G9? I tried a couple, including the one labelled "best", and my accuracy on 20 s intervals was at best 5s.

Yes, read this and this.

Rename your existing DISKBOOT.BIN to DISKBOOT.BIN.OLD and download the ZIP for your G9 from SDM website.

Also download Common_Files.zip  and copy the time_lapse.bas file to your SCRIPTS folder.

It is accurate, versatile and easy to use.
