Changeset 528 - chdk - Trac this should help
we even got the attention of the great phyrephox! this is rewarding.

Indeed, the lockups were due to a call at utime(); which has been promptly commented out :)
I dont know if it must be like this, but the signature finder created a null NSTUB to utime which in turn overrid file timestamp.

FWIW - I just installed GIMP with the latest UFraw plugin and it decodes the RAW files nicely.
(I don't understand why the latest irfanview & plug-ins won't, though. I guess they're just unexpectedly lagging on this.)

So I will go away and have fun with this for a while and report back if I see any problems after I get familiar with what CHDK can do.

Barring issues, I plan to make a remote/USB shutter release and try some HDR and DoF stacks.

Many thanks again. :)

Thanks to everyone involved in this.

One question. Is aperture override available or have I missed something obvious?

Thanks again

click alt + menu
then choose menu "debug parameters", then set "debug data display" on "none".

i will definitely remove it from default configuration on next build...

I've just loaded the 101b and yeeaaahhh! It's working!!! Thank you all very very much for the good and fast work!!!
 :D :D :D

I'm completely new to chdk, so you know what I'll be doing the next few days  ;)

Just to confirm: RAW files are working fine. I'm using the latest version of DNG4PS-2 to convert them to DNG and the outcome can be opened with Photoshop without any problems. DNG4PS is using the A720IS profile which seems to be compatible. However, I'm not an expert in handling RAW files and I may be wrong when saying that it's working fine, but hey, I'm so happy, I've shoot my first usable RAW files :xmas

Keep up the good work!

I tried on my 590IS and it recorded RAW image without any issues.
Thanks a lot for the great work on this.

I would love to see the video recording get improved in this camera. Also, is it possible to use CHDK from a 8 GB SDHC card?

Cardtricks says it can not make it bootable.. so i guess it will not work. ANy workarounds?

I believe you need to make a (small) FAT16 partition that goes first on the card, and then a much larger FAT32 partition. CHDK would be placed in the FAT16 partition. I'd probably make it 32MB just to be safe.
