Thanks ewavr

The original file extension was DNG and it created a WAV.
My intention was to create a CRW file with Exif information from
a DNG file in the File Browser, but I guess it is not possible to
have Exif information in a CHDK RAW (CRW) file.

I found it odd since WAV files are usually associated with
media players, that's why I thought it was a bug, I was expecting
a CRW with Exif from a DNG.

I will keep testing CHDK.

Thanks for the clarification.

I noticed that under yellow (incandescent) lighting I cannot produce same sort of picture out of raw/dng file as the camera jpg produces. I use Adobe Camera Raw to convert and it almost looks like it just does not want to go below certain values in the color temperature or above certain values in the "tint". Even if I use white balance adjusting tool, I still cannot get acceptable result.
Is this something known? Any workarounds?
If the picture was not taken in yellow light, everything seems to be working just fine (though tint values are still quite huge, but I guess this is some sort of the ccd artifact?)

Thanks. That explains some of it. What I find interesting is that since DNG write mode extracts proper color temperature and tint from the camera now, should not the result be the same now? It is the same for a lot of cases too, so is it just Adobe Camera Raw that is inadequate in that case?

I also open the DNG files in UFRaw and  the colors and white
balance are fine, this is great!
But CHDK RAW still have a white balance problem when open in UFRaw.

Is there any way to create CHDK RAW files in the camera with the Exif
information found in the DNGs?

It is nice to have the DNGs load fine now.

What should we be testing now? The video options?

Please forgive me as I am relatively new to CHDK.  Just noticed that AF is not functional for video regardless of the "AF key" setting.  Is this correct for build 719 or am I doing something wrong?  Also, is the mute on zoom feature possible for the A590is?  Thanks

Same with my cam...
I just downloaded the last build, and tried video.
The AF doesnt work, neither does the optical zoom ;-(

toby,
I think for the optical zoom to work you need to zoom out a bit and then begin recording.  What I found works is if I forget and start recording at the default full wide, I push the zoom lever to the left (wide) twice and then optical zoom works.  Takes some getting used to, but optical zoom is nice (albeit noisy til mute on zoom is available for the A590.)

toby,

Sorry you couldn't get optical zoom to work with video.  I am running CHDK build 719 and both of my a590is's are fw 1.01b.  Have you tried zooming out before you start recording?
