@OldGit and @fe50,
I just tested the video AF scan with the set key on the A590IS (101b) and it works great.
Thanks and great work!

I have noticed that sometimes when pressing the shortcut button to
enter chdk's menu the menu appears and then disappears fast not
giving much time to make a selection. This doesn't happen too often
but I wonder if there is a little bug in the menus system. I correct the
problem by pressing the button again and the making the selection.

Also...
I know that chdk can move icons around with the "OSD layout editor"
but is there a way to move around the "Exposure Level Indicator "
which would be nice to have lower or even horizontal and smaller if
possible. Even just numbers to indicate the stops would give more
space on the LCD monitor.  I hope there is a method in DryOS  to
change that in the GUI.

This is normal behavior in CHDK. The Canon firmware overwrites the CHDK display when it updates.

For the second one, I'm not clear what indicator you are talking about. If you mean the CHDK histogram, it can be moved in the OSD editor. If you are talking about a canon indicator, then it cannot be moved.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Ok, I see.
Good to know it isn't a chdk menu refresh bug.

Yes, it is the Canon indicator, the one Canon calls Exposure Level
Indicator. It gets in the way when composing pictures and I wish I
could move it or turn it off.

Thanks reyalp.

In the A590IS when using:
RAW parameters -> Dark Frame Subtraction [On]
Should it affect only the raw file or both raw and jpg?

It should affect both

Ok, that's what I thought.
I have seen dead pixels gone in both jpg/raw.

Will having:

RAW parameters -> Dark Frame Subtraction [On]

affect the image quality? speed?

I have Dark Frame Subtraction [On] all the time
to avoid getting dead pixels in the jpgs too.

Dark frame subtraction effectively doubles the exposure time, since it takes the exposure again with the shutter closed. The actual subtraction time should be fairly insignificant.

Quality should generally be better with dark frame subtraction on.

@mngc
Try this one.
If this does not crash the camera, you should now have....
Mute Mic in the menu,
Video Quality and the Optical Zoom should work.

Can you let me know how it goes and what problems it gives.

@OldGit,
In my A590IS (101b) it crashes the camera on start in any mode.
Do we need a Ps.fi2 to go with the bin?
Will the new options affect FPS in video?
Thanks for working on the A590IS' video options.
Hopefully, we can get it to work right.
