What about the RAW saving luckup in FW 1.01b, any news? RAW is the most important feature for me !!! I realy want to take RAW shots with my A590IS!!
And what about ND filter? Does this camera have this filter or not? I almost purchase one for long exposures shots. If the answer is yes, wich factor it is?

wow, the a590 crowd sure is very demanding... it's like in rushhour on times square here, what with everybody honking and stuff :D
guys, take the chill pill, and like we wrote multiple times: use the wiki, it will solve most if not all questions.
also, and this goes mainly to alecsus27 - please refrain from the use of doubleposting. you can always edit your posts (well unless someone else already posted behind you, duh).
Developers: Don't let these people put any pressure on you, do what you like and do it how you like.

I'm a new 590IS user and just tried out the CHDK 1.00E version. Seems to work fine, nothing crashed, etc. saving in RAW is slow (probably supposed to be?) but the functions that I tried all seemed to work.

thank you for your hard work on this!

Hello, Say me please, how to load the CHDK firmware from MMC card, if it has no write lock unlike SD card.
I think it's need to put the PS.fir file in a root of card and make the manual loading of firmware ,  but PS.fir is not presented in a590is-101b-0.6.2-full.zip

This is the porting thread, not general CHDK help.

You cannot load with either method from a non-protected card. Not that it makes any difference, but the PS.FIR method is not available on dryos cams like the a590. This is all covered in the FAQ - CHDK Wiki

That means you need to buy a card with a write protect switch. You can easily pick one up for under $5.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Odd thing I've noticed so far .. shooting test subjects, 5-shot bracketed RAW converted to 16-bit/chan TIFF and averaged with Enfuse .. each frame [as well as the final output of this process, of course], despite coming from RAW shots, has what looks exactly like JPEG artefacting all over it [crosshatch-patterned squares of pixels].

Can anyone else with an A590is verify this happens in RAW mode?
