Video consists of 777 pictures taken one minute apart starting at approximately 6:30 AM until approximately 8:30 PM.

Used a Canon A570IS running the Ultra Intervalometer script.  Pictures were compiled using Avidemux and music and text were added using Corel VideoStudio 12.

Mounted the camera on a tripod, used an AC adapter that plugged into an inverter that was plugged into my car outlet.  Camera was left it in aperature priority mode at 8.0 and I let the camera select the time exposure.

And then I sat in my car for 14 hours.

The next time I do this, I think I'll do 30 second intervals because 1 minute may seem short but with the way the wind blows in Oklahoma, the clouds were moving way too fast.  And I'll scout out a better location to get a better closer view of the city.

Nice timelapse, I especially liked the sunset!

 I agree that a shorter interval would help the movie flow better. Hope you got something productive done in those 14 hours. :D

Thanks.  Every one I've shown the video to has liked the sunset bit.  I also think it's my favorite part of the video as well.

I did do a lot of napping, reading and snacking on Wheat Thins while sitting around.

Can you tell me what kind of adapter do you use to get the batterie at life for so long time. Want do do something like that, but I don`t know what ist the right adapter vor a batterie with 7.4 V.

Very nice. I was wondering, you mentioned that you left the camera on Av. When your camera auto shutters, is there a limit? I have the G7, and I would also like to do a sunrise timelapse, but whenever the camera has reign over the shutter speed (i.e. any mode other than M and Tv), it limits the longest shutter speed to one second. As you can imagine, this is very annoying. Does the A570IS not have this kind of limitation?

What camera do you have? I have the G7, and according to the Canon accessories sheet that came with my camera, I would use the ACK-DC20. It depends on what camera you have. I'm actually in the middle of making my own AC adapter, I'll post my findings later, when I finish.

My Camera is the SLR 450D. Therefor Canon offers only a AC Adapter. But I need an adapter that works with an car batterie. So I have to reduce 12V to 7.4V. How many V are used in the G7?

I believe the batteries are the same. What you need is an inverter; this converts your car's 12VDC to 110/240VAC. THen you can plug in your AC adapter.

You can get an inverter that will run the camera very cheaply, e.g. kragen (auto parts store) has 150w ones for $15.

If you don't already have an AC adapter (which are very expensive from canon, but can be found more cheaply on ebay etc), you might want to consider just making an external battery back that uses larger NIMH cells or something. In fact, a 7.2 volt RC car pack would probably be fine.

You could also get a DC->DC converter to run directly off of your car 12 volt, but this may well be more expensive than either of the above options.
