First of all thanks for the great work everyone, really nice to see this nice cam finally got ported.

Second i'd like to ask, do i need a card reader to copy CHDK on SX 100 IS SD card or can i do it via USB - cam connector i got in a box? (I woulda test it alone, but i dont have my cam with me atm (and wont have it for few more days) but im so excited that i want to get hands on reader asap if its needed :)

Thanks in advance.

You need a cardreader. First of all, i'm not sure if its even possible to simply transfer files to the camera via PTP, second: you'll need to make your SD card bootable, and that is not possible over PTP. (PTP = Picture Transfer Protocol, is used if the cam is directly connected to the pc)

If you dont have one, i recommend you try to find a cardreader that will work with locked cards (Hama cardreader 6 in 1, looks like an USB stick.. for example) as you need to lock your card, so CHDK gets loaded - it can be quite annoying to lock & unlock the card everytime you put it in the PC to delete something.. or move some scripts on the card..

Thanks for the fast answer :)

Would you be so kind to link me the "final" chdk too? Was surfing around and found lots of version, and i'd like the final one atm. Speaking of 1,00c version.

Big thanks <3

CHDK Download - build 51, revision #444

There you go. Maybe you should have a look at CHDK - CHDK Wiki , there is a lot of useful stuff in the wiki ;)

there is a program that uploads the chdk to the sd card via camera, but its always better to use a card reader, more info in the wiki

also you should check first the version of the firmware of your camera

I'm too, so I want to activate Auto ISO Shift only temporarly - but this dosn't work anymore (CHDK running)
I made some changes in a650 sources to avoid this problem, it's fully fuctional, but grand added to trunc as comment only, see platform and core kbd.c

It works like wonders  :xmas

Cheers everyone, special thanks to contributors/ hardworkers (;)) ofc.

I have one more question tho... Is it normal that i cant start my camera with regular On/Off button (it just goes off when i start it in playback mode and then press "On" button). The only way to start it is via the shutter.

I mean, i have no problem with it, i just want to know if its supposed to be like that or did i messed somethin up :)

Yes, normal - It's the same on some other cameras (the new ones without an optical view finder), but soon there could be remedy for this issue...

great work to all involved!

Is there any chance that CHDK will work on cards greater than 4gb? 4gb is small now days :)
