:) Hey all....I just got a sx100 today and am interested in CHDK for its added functionality. Thanks all who have spent their time with this! I know little concerning this. firmware ID- I put camera in review mode w/SD card inserted..I press function and disp and all I can get is vers.1.0.0.0. Is that it (I thought there might more to advance)? I run on XP to my Sandisk 4GB SDHC card thru its supplied usb reader and I'm good to go?
I always dump pics and then format onto computer......I will have to "load card" everytime.....even if I don't format????TIA!

Wait.. What?
If you format your card, you'll have to make it bootable & put chdk on it again..

Hi

I've downloaded a beta version of chdk for SX100IS v.1.00B from a german board
http://www.wirklemms.de/chdk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=212 (last post).

Unfortunately my camera crashes in video mode (black screen, just power button does anything)

There is a chdk autobuild for 1.00C but of course it doesn't work for me. Why isn't there a autobuild for 1.00B? Are these two version so different?

I saw that ewavr is working on an SX100 build but it is also for 1.00C. Could you make two builds, one for 1.00B and one for 1.00C?

Thanks in advance.

PS: Quick reply doesn't work and in full reply I get the message "The message body was left empty" although it isn't empty.

It's the same link. My link :)
Still in beta
sx100is100b beta.zip - 0.11MB
Based on 442
Video menu-working
focus on video mode-working
Zoom on video mode is not working and I don't know where can be the problem
Sometimes on  starting video mode camera is turning off. When I want to show parameter data it's the same.
Sorry but I don't have enough time to recheck the source code. Probably I've made some mistakes sorry

Hmm, I found 3 errors (wrong addresses from 1.00C) in your movie_rec.c (diff file is attached). If movie recording still not works properly, is more simpler write this file again.

Thanks EWAVR and liquid2000 for the new 1.00b beta build.

Here are my test results:

1) There is problem with Av and Tv mode. The Aperture and Exposure value cannot be altered for Av and Tv mode respectively. It seems to me that the two mode control is interchanged. In Av mode, the changeable box with green arrows appears in "Exposure value" on screen. And in Tv mode, the changeable box appears in "Aperture value" on screen.

2) "Quality" Video Mode not working with or without optical zoom. Camera stop responding when start recording.

3) "Bitrate" Video Mode: video recording working with and without optical zoom, but sound cannot be recorded, just some noise. And the camera stop responding after finished recording.

4) In Video Mode, I also want to know if it's normal that with optical zoom enabled, there is no auto-focus when i change zoom distance and I need to focus manually by pressing "shutter" or "set" button

One time after pressing the set-button for auto focus the camera didn't crashed but the other times it crashed. I'll try some times more and will edit this post.

/EDIT: OK, it seems to work. I have decreased the video quality settings from 99 to 90.
