Going to try to attempt to port CHDK to my SD890. I've had this camera for a few months now and I love it but would really like to get into HDR photography, doing it now with Photoshop CS3 but not getting the results I want. Would also like to get some fast shutter speeds out of it along with some USB control if possible. I'm going to attempt to dump the firmware this evening after work and see what will happen. If cardtricks don't work I've had experience building IR transmitters/receivers when I use to do some coding for my old Palm Pilot.
Any tips on what all I need to do to get this ported over? Not the best at assembly but willing to learn. Any one else tried anything with this camera? Any info would be appreciated.

for the SD890 (Ixus 970) there are already dumps available for firmware 1.00D and 1.00E: SD890IS - CHDK Wiki ...there are also some threads here in the forum about this cam, search for  Ixus 970

Thanks fe50. now the fun part starts trying to port all of this. I honestly think changing the EEproms on old DirecTv satellite cards were easier than this.  :)
