I have just repackaged a special 'SDM version' of Dirk's receiver and it works fine.

It includes external control of two cameras for time-lapse and also synchronised external  flash with two cameras.

The flash fires after a programmable delay that ensures the shutters of both cameras are open.

Both images are illuminated by the same extrnal flash equipment.

In the image below, the jack plug is for the external flash and plugs into bottom of the receiver enclosure.

The USB connector is for the second camera.

Dirk, I really want one of these. But I'm not clear on which functions of my Canon 850 it will control. And will I be able to get it working? I'm not at all technical - I don't want to learn how to edit scripts.

If your CHDK menu has the option Remote parameters (its under miscellaneous stuff), select enable remote and it works without any script.

Just open thread again for a couple questions,
Has anyone some more feedback on CanoRemote?, such as, any improvement for false
triggering, effective distance for Apple remote. Are users satisfied?
Is CanoRemote still available, I will buy if other users have been happy.
STB's website seems to have no later information.

Hi!

It is still available. The software has a stable release. At the moment there is no need to update my website.

Hi !

Some of you purchased a receiver from me.
Calculating the battery lifetime is one thing, real operating conditions another one.
I'd like to ask you, how long worked your remote receiver with the first battery?

Dirk, I haven't used mine a lot, but it still works fine with the original battery.

I'm stumped on how to get a second USB cable connected so I can use it with SDM on my two TX-1s. :-))

Hi !

I just added support for a very cheap remote: Jianisi Digital SLR Remote for Canon
It works only in standard mode of the receiver, 3 buttons are supported.
The button functions are mapped to the corresponding Apple Remote buttons.
