well i added the check for rec/play mode so i didnt need to worry about it someplace else.
the zoom override isnt finished yet, and has two functions: on camera start, set zoom to specified value (on some cameras zooming takes a while, so people might not wanna wait to zoom when they press the shutter) and override the zoom during normal shooting and bracketing. will look into capt_seq, thanks for the tips.
Yeah, I wasn't sure quite what you intended. capt_seq probably isn't the place to set the initial zoom, but neither is boot. Ideally, you'd do it the first time you go into record mode (whether by booting in record mode or not). Or maybe every time you go into record mode ?
If you do it on boot, you need to figure out do you know whether you need to wait for the lens to finish unstowing before you try to set zoom ?
What I would really like is for the camera to be able to remember the last zoom setting (several other settings would be nice to be able restore too: manual focus mode+distance, and burst mode come to mind)
