If remaining video time  is displayed, video quality is also displayed 3 lines below. It could be fine to have a menu option to turn this line off, especially in constant bitrate mode, where this line doesn't display proper value - current quality of video being saved, but value that is set in menu and that is ignored

What about displaying remaining time in format m's''  (or s" if less than 1 min), like camera does ? In that case, we dont need "-" sign in front of the numbers (to distinguish it from clock I suppose) and It will be easier to read the value, without leading zeros (hh)

AUTOISO:ON   line could be hidden in video mode even if it is selected to be on in photo mode, because we all know we can't set ISO in video mode (at least not yet :)  )

the whole code in the remaining time in video stuff is a big mess, it was more or less quickly thrown together by whim and me, during the days when allbest still sifted through my code and cleaned it up before he committed it to the svn. but then he became inactive and didnt have the chance to check this particular code. it does work though of course and is fully functional, but with a few flaws, among them the ones you mentioned. it probably has to be rewritten from scratch. i think i won't have the time to do that in the near future.
also you might want to consider adding this feature request/bug report to the mantis bugtracker so it doesnt get lost :)

Ehmm ... how/where can I add this feature request to mantis bugtracker so it doesnt get los (I'm not familiar with that :( )
I allready placed these comments in thread "Bug Reports against Recent Builds -- Report bugs here", but I think nobody noticed, because there were no comments, so I tried here once more ...

Bug tracking and feature requests with Mantis - CHDK Wiki here is a "manual" on how to and where to report stuff.
we needed this "fullfledged" bugtracker because the forum is very hard to keep track on, like you already noticed.
