Hello ppl!

In #chdk we just talked about a chdk meeting at the 25C3 in Berlin:


   25th Chaos Communication Congress
   December 27th to 30th, 2008
   bcc Berliner Congress Center, Berlin, Germany

I'd like to ask around, if anyone here is going to attend the congress, too. We want to make at least a workshop in the hackcenter. We are still not confident if we are going to make a full lecture since we are not that long at the chdk project.

However, I do believe we'll have some fun!

Are there any more ccc'ler around here?

well i already confirmed in irc that i can attend the congress. would be a good thing for chdk, as it gets more attention, especially by hackers and openminded people. the thing i have a problem with is that it is december 27th to 30th. i might not be able to attend all days. i live like 5 km away from the place though. well, we'll see.

this weekend chdk will be shown to a lot of nerds, hackers & people who love freedom of speech, choice & sourcecode.
chr & unsinn (he hosts bugtracker and doxygen) will be there (i think for the whole 4 days). i will join in on the fun for at least two days.

btw we didnt make it in time for being allowed to hold a "speech" about chdk, but we try to garner some attention anyways.
and if you think 30 bucks for a day at the ChaosComputerClub Congress is too much, well, then you're stupid. trust me, this is worth every penny. you not only get to see and meet "chdk people" but you can hear and see a lot of brilliant people holding speeches, interesting projects etc...

well, since this is a "hackers" event, taking pictures is not allowed, unless permission explicitly granted. we're trying to get a permission at least for the area we're staying at.
i dont know how it will end up, but i think we might get some new coders out of this

note: not that i am unsatisfied with the ones we have, mind you

Haha, what an irony. Same people complaining about not being allowed to take photos at demonstrations..

I was hoping for a video, maybe even a stream? I know its not like one of the lectures which you can view videos of, but still - maybe something interesting would come out of this..

I found a very interesting MingW-based GCC 4.3.2 toolchain here: YAGARTO - Yet another GNU ARM toolchain

the guys name is Michael Fischer, so if you run into him ...

i'm currently trying to adapt it to CHDK, cygwin works, but is a pain in the b*tt ;
however, the same goes for adapting, if you're no *nix guru ...
