First: don't panic - the 'firmware update' does not change your firmware, but is just a method to get
CHDK to start.
That said, let's attack your problem.

first, check if you've got the right version -  there's 4 known firmware versions for your cam, so
there's also 4 different CHDK versions.

If you used CardTricks to format your card, it should have a 'ver.req' file on it now - please check.
if it does, just switch on your cam with the card in, and press 'Func. Set' and HOLD IT DOWN.
Then press 'Display' and your version number should appear (as GM xxxxx)
(should be 100E, 100F, 100G or 100I)
Use this version number to get the correct CHDK version and repeat what you did before, and it
should work.

hope that helps,

wim

I have tred to "'Func. Set' and HOLD IT DOWN. Then press 'Display' "
Could you tell me where shouls I see the version information on the scrren or the "vers.req" file.
In the "vers.req" I can see this:
"there is nothing in here really. or is it? you won't find it, i betcha. you can even go HEX on me.
booya."

Should see it on the screen, FuncSet (hold down) plus 'Display' at the same time
(just like pressing Ctrl-C on a computer)

Mister! As I see from your info, you never met an S2 IS ever!
If you like it to know, there NO FuncSet (hold down) plus 'Display' WORKS AT ALL!!!
Obviously, S2 IS has another key combination to activate firm vers view!!!

Don't think all people are stupid...
