Reading the documentation on set_focus refers to its use with cameras with MF.  However, this uBasic function is also implemented in the Ixus models with no built-in MF.  After a little experimenting, it seems like doing a "set_focus x" will remember the value "x" until the next time a "shoot" is done and then uses that "x" value for the focus. 
Is this correct?  If so, how does it know when to revert to using auto-focus in scripts?

A related question about MF outside of scripts:  Is there an easy way to auto-focus and then "tweak" the focus a little using the auto-focus as a starting point?
