Thank you to all who are working on this port.  My mouth is watering in anticipation of trying CHDK on my SX10IS.  With that said, I have firmware GM1.01B.  I attempted to get a firmware dump, but if I insert an SD card with the write protect tab set to "locked" the camera won't turn on.  Is there something that I'm missing?

genzbenz: The camera isn't expected to boot fully with udumper so it may actually be working. In any case, we already have a 101B dump.

Whoohoo!  I was also trying to get the 1.01b dump, but I'm on Linux and although CardTricks seems to run fine under wine I was having trouble getting it to recognize the card. But, it looks like that won't be necessary afterall.  My mouth is watering for 1.01b. I'm especially looking forward to the longer exposure times.

Ok, dumping was successful - the fw strings are there...but we need the complete dump file (your zip contains the saved strings).

Yeah, this confused me as well. The camera does nothing at all. Doesn't make a sound, doesn't blink, doesn't even make you breakfast. Just push the play button once it's in and wait for about 45 seconds then take out the batteries, then the card.

But since they already have it I guess it doesn't matter. But just in case someone else reads this that was confused in the future. ;)

I'm not getting any lights what-so-ever on the camera.  Before I tried to get a dump, I put CHDK in my camera, and it was the same thing.  As long as the SD was set to "LOCK" the camera won't turn on.  Am I the only one who is experiencing this?

As stated above, this is normal for udumper, and also normal if you try to run the wrong version of CHDK.

edit:
Skedoozy 100c dump looks fine.

There is already a dump available for 1.01B so this is not needed

Hi guys! This is my first post, and I registered just to say thanks to ewavr, fe50, Gran Canaria (he posted the SX10 1.01A firmware dump quick-enough for people to work on, and I happen to have the same ver), and everybody else who contributed to the development (well, it's still beta, but now I'm optimistic about finally experiencing the real deal). I hope the final version comes out as soon as possible, and I congratulate you all on you success so far. Cheers! :)
