Hi,

Just registered to say thank you for all of your hard work, you guys rule. My SX10 feels like a whole new camera with this firmware.

Thanks for this amazing piece of software. :)

Possible bug.

I noticed that when I shoot in P mode using exposure bracketing with one full step spacing, that my camera sometimes crashes on recording the second raw frame.  At which  point I have to take the batteries out of the camera and restart it to make my camera function again.  the same bug also occurred on my friend's SX10-IS when using the same settings I did.

Update, doing a little more research here, and it appears that .DNG format is what's causing the problem.  When I use exposure bracketing with .DNG turned on, it locks up on both our cameras here, but when we turn it off, it works just fine.

Photography is the art, of making a fraction of a second, last forever.

Which program can open RAW (.crw) files from SX10?

Since the new camera's RAWs are 12bit, there's most likely no software support yet - use the DNG support of the SX10: SX10 DNG guidance !

Hello all.  I just got an SX10IS and in my poking around on the internet reading about it, I stumbled upon you guys.  I must say that I think what you guys are doing here is really cool and I'd like to offer my services.  I have 1.0.1b on my SX10, I saw that there was already a dump for it, so I was wondering if there was anythign else that you may need.  I don't have any experience with ARM processors or assembly, but I do have a decent amount of programming experience.  Let me know if I can be of any assistance and keep up the good work!

All -

In case others want to try this path, Canon says "No firmware upgrades for the SX10 exist".

From bits I saw in the status dump, it appears that the version GM1.00c is hosted on a different processor than the version GM1.01a,b and GM1.02

Is anyone quietly working on a port for GM1.00c ?  If not, I may tackle it...

I don't have any experience with programming, but i'd like also to give a hand, What's the first to port this beta to a different firmware version, checking differences between dumps of SX10 1.01A and another fw. version to find what modify on the beta??

SX10 porting problem.

I must have played around for six hours today while trying to get CHDK to work on my SX10, and finally stumbled on a workaround. The problem is that the camera ALWAYS starts in the review mode (the lens does not extend). Since I didn't have any photos on the card and had a blank screen, I was fooled into thinking I couldn't take pictures either, even tho CHDK does load. I have found that I have to press the shutter button to "wake up" the lens system. This can't be normal, is it?

It is normal for CHDK on cameras without a rec/play switch. If you hold the power button down a bit longer, it may start in record mode.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
