Wondering how this works on my sd870. I've tried the half shutter/up down combo with no success after enabling it.

Is this feature available on this camera? Or is there another way to perform this kind of function?

Sorry if this has been covered could not find info for my camera.

Hello & welcome jakes !

Yes, it works on the SD870 - but the keys are also used by the original Canon functions & by other CHDK features...
If enabled, the Fast Ev function is on the UP/DOWN keys (ISO / TIMER), you can press up/down once, then wait a second until the Canon OSD disappears - or press FUNC/SET directly after UP/DOWN...to change ISO or timer/cont. mode you should disable Fast Ev.

Maybe this will be 'fixed' sometime...

You can also change Ev from -2 to +2 without CHDK: in the canon menu, assign the PRINT button to +/- (Exp.), then you get the Ev settings menu with a long press (>0.5s) to PRINT...

My suggestion for key combination, as I already said, would be

- Fast EV switch turned on: shutter half press + left/right = Fast Ev switch -/+
- Fast EV switch turned off: shutter half press + left/right = old CHDK behaviour (turning histogram/OSD on/off)

- Fast EV switch turned on: shutter half press + left/right = Fast Ev switch -/+

shutter half press + left is already used by Canon AFL

...OT: we need a 3rd key state: double click (like in the propcase viewer)

Excellent. Thank you very much! Been wondering what to assign to that print button to - been liking it set to play sound effect.  Oh well, sacrifices.
