Heh, this turned out a popular thread, I guess I should've been a bit more verbose :)

Yes, it's a lua script, name it *.lua.

My camera required that 100 ms sleep between shoot_full and set_zoom, otherwise it would zoom and shoot separately. Clearly other cameras may require a longer delay.

Yes, that works. Same as pressing shutter-button, but also gets me out of alt-mode.

Oh yea, it does that for me too. Pressing alt a couple of times (pause&unpause) makes the script will finish cleanly, and shutter interrupt works just as well like you said.

 Maybe the shoot state loop in the end isn't working well with the zoom for us... I didn't bother trying to get rid of that feature as the script was written just to demonstrate that it's possible to zoom during exposure.

Just do it. If it works it works. And if it doesn't try reading the entire thread.

works for me too. i saved as ".lua" and it goes. i noticed that for exposure longer than 2 secs those interlaced lines not appear anymore. thanks fudgey.
