i tried with both CHDK-sx100is-100c-0.5.5-527 (allbest) and sx100is-100c-0.7.1-550-full (juciphox collaborative) and still not working. i saved the script as "zoom_exposure.bas" should i save as ".lua"?

well, i tested it for the first time right now, and i gotta say: half of the time it zooms in, and AFTER zooming  it takes a shot. other half of the time camera shuts down :D i think everytime it zooms out, it shuts down.
alright, have to do some more tests.

what do you mean "the COMPLETE auto build"?
I have the files from the autobuild found here Index of /hdk/ , the FIR and the BIN plus scripts etc in the card's folders.
if you can grab hold of ewavr more easily, ask him for the script please, he must have it.

Oh boy. Those versions are frigging ancient, as in ancient egyptian temple. Does this version even have LUA?

Get a new one here: CHDK Download - build 0.7.1, revision #550 ;)

yeah there was a thread/post somewhere, i looked for it today but i didnt find it (too many hits when searching for zoom and script :D)
anyhows, now it runs fine on my digic II s3is without a flaw: i had to adjust the sleep in line 22. right now i set it to 500, seems 100 is too short. will have to experiment with it. 500 means the camera will wait half a second before the zooming kicks in.

btw attached is my take. for a 10 minute test setup, i think its not too bad. imagine we would put time in the setup and actually take photos of something worthwhile ;)

you can see my favourite brand of beer and the of course overexposed background, it is "frozen" by the flash. the light emitting by my cardreader however was "burnt in" during the zooming, hence the cool effect. :D
