like already written in the thread, this effect normally is achieved in slrs/dslrs by manually zooming while exposing.
by the way can you also test a FOCUS shift during ONE exposure!? though this happens quiete fast (the focus changing), but also can lead to beautiful images. dont have a cam on me right now, nor do i have the time.
also a technique in the same playground: tilting your camera in the moment you press the shutter (in conjunction with flash) or pushing/dragging your camera towards the subject. this *might* be implemented in the future, for example when we include dataghosts IS-correction during exposure.


And what would be the command to sweep through he focus range? Is it:
set_focus (distance)

I tried a variation to ZinTv1s.lua script by j13l and it did not work as smoothly as when it zomed through full zoom range.
Any ideas?

i cant get any of the script to work on my SD800. I have the latest build. My camera just zoom then locked with no picture taken. I have to restart my camera afterwards. I think a zoom override will provide the best control without doing all the scripts.

What happens when you zoom in + out once before starting the script? Some of the ixus (aka SD*) cams behave like that when you try to set the SD (subject distance - manual focus..) override, but triggering the zoom once helps..

Btw, i dont think a specific zoom override function would work better than that script, they both need to access the same function in the camera firmware to set the zoom - when that function crashes the camera while taking an exposure, theres not much you can do (i guess. no guarantee i'm right.)

I tried zoom in/out before starting script. Now I notice another problem. The zoom doesnt work when the camera entered <alt> mode loaded with ANY script!

--> Zoom in & out first, outside <Alt> mode - then enter <Alt> mode...

Someone said this script may not work in future versions of CHDK without zoom override. Does it work with the current CHDK still?
