Auto iso and flash

Hi,

I'm using auto flash with AllBest on my A710 IS. I have the auto iso fully customised, however when I switch the flash on the auto iso either defaults to iso 200 or even lower. Without flash the auto iso works as it should.

Is there any way to force the camera to rely on auto iso properly even when the flash is turned on so that I can shoot at iso 400/800 with flash?

Many thanks,

Ben

Uhm. I have no answer for your question, but i'm curious what you want with iso 800 images. Are you generating random numbers for scientific purpose from the image noise?

BTW.. It seems to me as if the auto iso feature gets disabled when the flash is active..

In my s3is the auto iso mode does not get disabled in aperture priority mode when flash is turned on. It gets disabled in program and other modes.

iso 800 is not too noisy to use by any means with my camera, certainly not for small print sizes and the family pictures I'm using the camera for. Being able to use a higher iso when shooting with flash means that you get far better exposed mages indoors unlike those shot with flash alone which look extremely fake.

AutoISO gets disabled when the flash is set to auto. You can set the flash to on instead of auto, then the AutoISO feature should work as expected.

No idea why its like that, though.

it's disabled because the camera crashes....
