I found the Windows version but could not get it to work. I have Java installed and tried to set the PATH in the batch file to no avail. I even tried running Beetlebrox NT from within the Java directory. Could not get it to work. I discovered that both aefdisk and the trial version of Acronis Disk Director can Hide / Unhide a Flash partition. I tried both, and while both programs show Partition 1 (the FAT16 CHDK partition) as Hidden, it still shows up as visible in Windows File Manager. Windows Disk Management shows it as Healthy but unavailable. However, I still see it in File manager as a 16MB drive with the CHDK files installed. I can't seem to figure out how to set it up so I see the 7GB portion of the SD card.

I used the Ubuntu method and that worked. But using this method (according to the instructions) does not hide the smaller partition, so the recommendation is to dl the images while the card is still in the camera. I can do that, but shouldn't I be able to 00 the first partition and then be able to use the card via a USB drive?

I don't understand the question. Linux has no problem with multiple partitions on removable media, you can mount either or both as you wish. On my ubuntu box they are both mounted automatically.

If you are using USB camera connection (windows or linux) then you will see whatever the camera sees as the active partition, and don't need to do any swapping. You might have trouble copying raws.

Should have been more clear. I'm normally on a Win7 x64 platform. I tried the other methods described (aefdisk / Beeblebrox NT and I think the SDM method) and none of them worked with my 8GB Sandisk and my G9. I felt like I had nothing to lose trying the Ubuntu method from a CD-run copy. But as I normally put my SD cards in a USB reader I'm now left with the thought that if I want to do it that way I still have to try to "hide" the CHDK partition or else Win7 will not see the larger partition with the images. But I think "hiding" the partition may have been part of what was causing me problem on my G9 - I kept getting "Memory Card Error" with these other techniques (having said that I'm not really sure if it was because of hiding the first partition). For whatever reason I'm not seeing that with the SD card prepped using the Ubuntu method.
