How After I bought my A570 I found out about CHDK, I've loaded Best50 and it works but don't know how to configure it to shoot MD. Then how you would make it time lapse and what is used to make a video. I'm new to all this and haven't found any info on my searches. All I want to do is start capturing MD of lightening strikes and birds.
Thanks..

Wow 40 people visited and not one person offered help! I found out I needed to load scripts into the SD card to make it work as a motion detection and one for time lapse. This is what I needed to know. Setting the parameters is another issue for me, what would be the best way to inter them from the PC or the camera? Hey I didn't know about "bas" files that's how CHDK ignorant I am. I could still use some help to get me going. A how to for newbs is needed.

Ok.. Heres my advice:

1.) Get the full build from CHDK Download - build 0.7.3, revision #553

2.) Use Fast MD with burst/preview mode
-> 2.1) Find out the parameters for yourself. (Or read the whole thread carefully)

3.) see: time lapse jpeg compiler??? for softwares which can compile timelapse videos.

Really, what you call "Help" is basically just digging up old threads and giving you the direct links. You could have found ANY of those all by yourself.

Regards.
