I have obtained my rev using the methos shown and get the following version - B1.1.  This does not appear to be supported, is there any way I can use CHDK Raw?

You must have made a mistake, James. B1.1 is not a valid version number. See here for how to get the version number: FAQ - CHDK Wiki

The only known version for the S3 is 1.00a. Why don't you download that build and try it?
