Choosing raw size

Hi everybody.

at the moment raw support for A590 is done in dcraw using S5 profile. Actually this is true if i set the hook_raw_size to be the same as S5. But the proper raw is slighlty larger... 3336*2490.
What would you do? put real dimension in CHDK to get extra pixels and break dcraw compatibility, or play safe and leave things as they are?

I would say use the correct size, and let the tool developers update accordingly.

Got it. But doing so, in my next build, nobody will be able to use raw. And they'll bark at me

i guess it is sufficient sending a raw to dave coffin, the dcraw coder. dont u think?
if dcraw supports it, ufraw and rawtherapee will automatically support it as well. besides, in the bugtracker exists code that lets you produce "real crws". and ewavr is already coding dng-in-camera...
