God I'm an idiot.  But that hasn't fixed everything, the .bas scripts work but the message on the Carlapse has changed from saying: :1: An unexpected symbol near 'n' to :134: unexpected symbol near ']'.  I haven't changed anything apart from the coding.

Soon as I work this out I'm putting up a simple straight copy of the working script.  Save everyone having to paste in the fb-lib which I reckon is what's causing this problem.

Great script! I did notice one quirk though. When I'm coming out of a relatively dark area (sunset, in the shadows) into an area with a lot of sun, it seems to stop taking photos, even if I drive back into a relatively dark area. I have to wave my hand in front of the camera for it to continue, even though there's clearly movement occurring outside the car.

Hi:  I'm hoping someone can help me . .  I've successfully used the CarLapseV5 script with my old SD450. Unfortunately, the camera suffered from the infamous E18 error and is now dead.  I found a used SD630 in the family and am trying to use this SD630 with the CarLapseV5 script.  However, whenever the script goes to take a picture, it will focus then the camera shuts off!  I've tried learning the LUA scripting language to debug it myself but I am not able to figure out what is wrong with it.

Can anyone help, PLEASE?  I'm taking a road trip tomorrow from Chicago to Phoenix.  I understand that I may not get a response by tomorrow morning, but I'd like to have this fixed by the time I take the trip back from Phoenix.

If you can help, please either reply or contact me direct.

Thanks in advance,
Gregg <chdk@lawlynn.com>

This feels like a great script but have problems running it.
I use a ixus60 and can run other scripts on it.
With this script I get 1 picture then the camera shuts down.

I use CHDK version 0.9.8-788

Can it be a problem with the latest CHDK version or a compatible problem with the Ixus60?

Hello, new to CHDK and posting here.   :haha

FIRST - thank you to everyone that has created CHDK/Scripts/WebSite...  only one word..  Astonishing, Amazing, Mind-blowing, Unbelievable, Fantastic, Remarkable, Unbelievable...  (pick one)

SECOND - "P.S.: 'fb-lib' is needed. You get it if you download the "Night-time time-lapse" script" could not find in current ZIP version 16 (did i miss it?)  but was located it in version 14.  - just a heads up, for someone like me....

Went out and drove up a canyon to pick up my crosscountry running daughter, figured Id try it out...  300 pictures later...  I can confirm it works on a SD750 - 5 pictures endedup complete white out.  assume that might be due to meter in shade and picture in sun...  SO THANK YOU AGAIN... Just when I thought that my MP3 collection was a hard drive eater..  I have a new consumer of binary plater space.   and my dashboard?  2 meter radio, IPOD, GPS, and now a camera...  COOL!  thank you - (I assume my wife wont... )

THIRD - looking for recomendations of software to use to put them all together into a movie.  Tried MS MovieMaker..  didnt look to hot - delay on each pic even at Min settings didnt give that clean flowing movie others have produced.  Suggestions that dont cost a arm, leg or my buget for a new camera?

Again.   Thank You

There are some very good OS (open source) and freeware apps for this out there, the "reference" software for CHDK-timelapsing is VirtualDUB...

...a hint for starting with VirtualDUB: From the "File" menu, call "Open video file...", adjust "Filetype" = "Image sequence"...

When searching for virtualdub or timelapse you'll find more informations here in the forum...

Hi!
Just a very basic questiion about LUA scripts.
Noticed that CarLapse is a linear script without use of any function calls in the main loop.
Are function calls that much slower that they should be avoided in time critical loops?
Just looking for INFO.

No, lua function calls should be plenty fast.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

I had a go at the CarLapse script and it works quite well. Is there any way to get a faster frame rate? It seems to shoot about every two seconds. It would give a lot smoother results if I could get a frame every second or less.

Cheers,

Now if I could hack my Canon Vixia movie camera to do this... I bet the results would be stunning!

I think you can't have a faster frame rate because your camera can't shoot faster.
continous mode for your camera is 1.2 fps.

Can you tell me if with your camera the "Max. TV" script's parameter is respected ? In mine it not work.
