[..] if chdk is not planning [..]

There's noone planning to do anything, chdk is a loose community project. If someone comes along with a SX10 & ARM Assembler skills, it will probably be ported pretty soon.

It is of course possible that the SX10 will be ported. Cant tell how soon of course. But then again: The chances of chdk getting ported to the SX10 are pretty good, compared to the chances for seeing a "PHDK" for the lumix dmc fz28 ... ;)

Its your choise.

its cause the lumix can be set to 60 sec exposure that is really the only thing i want for the sx10

Well, with CHDK you could actually do 64 sec exposures ;)

Any waaaaaay more. Automated bracketing, scripting for timelapses, motion detection, live histogram, zebra mode, Edge detection, RAW file (Even saving as DNG), Shutter speeds up to 1/50.000 of a second, Remote release over USB, printing custom lables directly on the images, Advanced bad pixel removal, in camera RAW processing (Substraction, addition, averaging..) .. and a lot more.

-> A lot of cool stuff no other camera can offer. I'd strongly recommend to stick with the SX10 & Wait a few months. But thats just my spoiled opinion as a canon (and chdk) fanboy.  :D
