Hacking XSI : Full Auto modifications?

Hello -

Newbie here, please don't bite. I did search for anything related to XSI.

I would like to hack my XSI to save RAW files in the different modes that the camera has (ie, Auto, Night, Sports, etc). Also, I would like for the automode to not always turn on the flash.

Is this possible?

1 - wrong subforum (and also wrong "main forum"?)
2 - whats an XSI?

Ok - let me conclude: you want auto mode, but WITH the ability to save RAW, and WITHOUT the camera deciding AUTOmatically to enable the flash?

Seriously, use the Program mode..

the Canon Rebel XSi is the new replacement of the Canon Rebel XTi. main changes over the XTi are that the XSi has image stabilisation, and shoots in 12mp vs 10mp (XTi)

I know this thread is completely OT now but... the XSi does not have image stabilization. That is, unless you use a canon lens with image stabilization - which would obviously be usable on the XTi too. I replied just to prevent one from reading this and getting the wrong idea.

i consider it to have image stabilization, as the kit lens comes with it. the xti kit lens does not.

but i didn't know you could interchange them, :thumbs up:

Use P :)
If you want flash just push the flash button. When you're done with it just push the flash down.
