If CHDK is actually installed on a the memory card would using a new different card bring the camera's features/specs  back to the OEM default.? Not really ready for CHDK yet...

Actually, its sufficient to unlock the card, or just delete the diskboot.bin... CHDK does not overwrite anything in your cameras ROM, it gets loaded everytime the camera starts from the SD card.

Yes - CHDK is not a permanent firmware update, it's a software add on & it resides only on the memory card.
- If you use another card without CHDK your cam is as it was before using CHDK.
- If you format your SD card (either in the camera or in a card reader), CHDK will also be removed completely.

If you use the Autoboot - feature (or have a DryOS based camera) you can also enable / disable the complete CHDK stuff either by unlocking your SD card: lock on = CHDK enabled, lock off = CHDK disabled.
