i was curious if there was a way to switch between shooting modes from a script. the wiki says its not possible but chdk has been moving quickly so i thought i'd check.
no, it is not possible yet, but it is being worked on.
I has ben done on a few cameras (IIRC A560, A570 and A720 and very experimentally on sd1100)
There may be an additionally answer...
Switching between shooting modes like manipulating the 'mode dial' on e.g. the A-series or the 'Scene / Video' mode selector on the Ixus-series is only possible in experimental builds for some A-models, that's fbonomi answer.
But with the 'standard' builds you can already switch between some shooting modes, when they are available on buttons which can be emulated in a script.
This means: on the Ixus series e.g. you can switch between some shooting modes like 'Auto', 'Manual', 'Macro', 'Stich', 'Color...' with FUNC/SET and (in Manual mode) you can switch between single / timer / continuous mode with DOWN...
(keys may be different, just an example...)
