in #613 i added PlasmaHH's propcase comparer. using this nifty tool i found and updated quite a bunch of propcases on my s3is (gonna verifiy with a620 some day) - see PropertyCase - CHDK Wiki
now i need the corresponding propcases for dryos, i'm especially interested in the language setting.
if these match to the ones in vxworks i can cook up a system that automatically sets codepage & *.lng file upon cfg inialization (see 0000094: Subdivisions for rbf font directory - CHDK Bugtracker & bug #77)

now i am searching for params. it's very tedious though without a "param compare" function. tried to write one in C, but i failed.
so i modified reyalps new example script: www private pastebin - collaborative debugging tool
it creates a new param dump everytime you call the script. with these dumps you then can compare them on the PC. this is very tedious.
so we need a param compare function that operates in a similar fashion as the propcase compare. reyalp, i guess this should be easy for you... :)
i already created a wiki page: Params - CHDK Wiki

edit: for the script to work a LOGS dir has to exist in root.

hm, true, they are way different. BUT (and we need more people/cameras to verify) if they are the same on each propset, we can integrate these in a useful way. gonna check a620 now

edit: a620 & s3is language values are the same.

english seems to differ in msls and your camera... or one of you made a mistake (@msl & fudgey)?
anyhow,the rest seems to be the same. so we can use this propcase to do language depending stuff. nice.

Definitive 1 for English, perhaps a different value for dryos and vxworks.

When you convert the values to hex, you can see a pattern.

I must have typoed that one, it's 1 now that I've rechecked and PAL/NTSC has the same effect (NTSC=value in PAL - 1) so everything's the same.
