Hello & welcome ryosaeb4 !

CHDK is NOT a frimware, it's a firmware ADD-ON; NO - it's not available for the G10.

You should find out the "real" firmware version of your camera: CHDK wikia: How can I get the original firmware version number of my camera ? & report it here (something like 1.00F).

I was also wondering if CHDK supported Canon G10. Since its based on Digic 4 we may have to wait for someone to crack it.

The version I have on G10 is ver 1.0.0.0

Hello & welcome SiddharthMenon !

Until now nobody (as i know  ;) ) is working on a port for the G10.
Yes, it's a Digic IV device, like some other new cameras (e.g. the SX1 & SX10) and most of them are very similar to the last Digic III DryOS cameras...
The firmware version 1.00F is already dumped, this is the first step of the porting process...

No, that's not the REAL firmware version, read this article in the CHDK wikia: FAQ: How can I get the original firmware version number of my camera ?

So if your fw is 1.00F then wait for a developer...elsewise you can dump your fw and upload it for further development; you'll find more informations in the CHDK wikia and here in the forum (search for the keywords 'firmware' 'dump')

Having just bought a G10, I have a couple of crazy ideas for which I'd like to use CHDK. This may take a while since I'm learning this low-level stuff as I go but I'll keep you updated on my progress.

I'd be interested in hearing from any more experienced developers willing to lend a hand.

Andrew.

Be sure to read http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/For_Developers and particularly http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Adding_support_of_a_new_camera

You can also sometimes get useful advice in the CHDK channel on freenode.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

Andrew,

being  a G10 owner since a few months, I'm interested in the CHDK for this amazing camera. So I've bookmarked your pages and I'm looking forward to see how things are going. Please let me know if you need some help, altough I don't have CDHK porting experience...
As a member of some Flickr groups, I can gather idea's for extra features maybe?
Personally I would like to see an option to have longer exposure times.

Regards and success with the porting.

Kris.
